Day 1 Houay Xai arrival in Laos or flight in from Vientiane
(tour can be started from Luang Phabang + 1 day for travels to Houay Xai)
Meeting at Houay Xai and start of this wonderful adventure travel package in north Laos. With our car we take our onward travel to Vieng Phouka. If time permits we take a small orientation walk through the small town. Local Guest House

Day 2 Vieng Phouka - Trekking in the nature of North Laos
Trekking to Hilltribes in Vieng Phouka in cooperation with the local tourism authority and guide unit. - overnight at Akha family in home stay

 

Day 3 Vieng Phouka - Trekking in the nature of North Laos
After our tour we return to Vieng Phouka and take another overnight in Vieng Phouka. If time permits we can also travel onwards to Luang Namtha where better facilities are available.

 

Day 4 Travel to Muang Sing
Drive through the Nam Ha protected zone to the plateau of Muang Sing near the Chinese border. If time permits we take the chance to explore the small town with its little market as well as the local ethnic museum. The afternoon if free to hang out in your little guesthouse

 

Day 5 Muang Sing - Trekking tour to ethnic minorities
In the morning we start the hiking tour to ethnic minority villages and the surrounding mountains. On this one day trek we have the chance to learn more about the ethnic groups in the nearby mountains of Muang Sing. We will have lunch in a small village and return in the afternoon for overnight stay in Muang Sing.

 

Day 6 Drive to Luang Namtha and explore the town
In the afternoon we take the time for a short city walk, waterfall visit or biking tour.
Its best to discover Luang Namtha with a small bike ride, so prepare to use different muscles.

Day 7 Nam Ha Project - Trekking Tour

Day 10 Luang Namtha to Udomxai
and short walking tour in the town. Overnight stay in Oudomxay and free time in the evening.

 

Day 11 Udomxai to Pakbeng
On this wonderful stretch of road we have time to visit some more villages in great landscapes. many rice fields and the lush green Lao countryside makes this an interesting drivet o Pakbeng. We have enough time to overnight on Mekong River bank in Guest House

 

Day 12 Explore the mighty Mekong River
on a 6-7 hour cruise downstream to Luang Prabang - Late afternoon arrival and overnight stay in hotel in Luang Prabang.

 

Day 13 City Tour and departure

You should be in normal fitness and arriving with an open mind for the different cultures and traditions. We get very close to local people and want to respect their way of life. Be prepared for some basic accommodations in the villages
